NetU Distribution invites you to the Azure Workshop “Discovering Azure” on June 12th, 2017 at European University Cyprus (Lab005-MIS Executive Lab) in Nicosia from 08:00 – 17:00.

For this event, we will have the honor of hosting Dimitris-Ilias Gkanatsios, as well as Dimitris Papadimitriou, both Technical Evangelists from Microsoft.

This Azure Workshop provides demonstrations and discussion that aim to inform you about the benefits of using Azure and the reasons behind its growing popularity. The specific event aims to cover a variety of topics regarding Azure and provide demos and hands-on activities on the below:

  • Azure Virtual Machines
  • Azure App Service (Windows/Linux)
  • SQL Azure
  • Application Insights
  • Azure Functions
  • Xamarin
  • Cognitive Services
  • DevOps / Containers
  • Chatbots – Conversations As a Service

In the first part of the day we’ll dive deeper into the beforementioned Azure components whereas in the second part you’ll practice by running labs found in the Microsoft Technical Community Content GitHub repository, with the assistance of the speakers.


What can I bring into the event?

You are encouraged to bring and use your own device but you will need the following:

  1. a) The Technical Community Content on their PCs/Macs. This is the source for the labs we’ll do, download it in order to save time during the workshop
  2. b) The IDE of your choice! Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio 2017 are recommended (Community Edition or Pro/Enterprise). If you use Visual Studio 2017 make sure it has its latest updates installed as well as the following components (depending on your needs) which can be installed from Visual Studio Installer:
